CCTV catches our lying Street Warden
Murria Solicitors were instructed to act on behalf of a Client in a case of a false accusation of assault. Our client and his friend were out drinking in the early hours of the morning in Wakefield City Centre. Our client’s friend, who was slightly worse for wear than our client, was involved in an incident with Street Wardens.
Our client, an innocent bystander, tried to resolve the situation amicably. One of the female Street Wardens proceeded to allege that our client had assaulted her. In accordance with our client’s instructions, we pursued a claim against the private security firm – Protex Security Limited; who provided the street wardens in association with Wakefield City Council. They denied liability in the matter.
CCTV emerged that clearly showed that the Street Warden’s allegations were false. Our client was awarded £3,750 and legal costs as compensation in September 2014.
