Partner Visa Extensions – What You Need To Know

If you live in the United Kingdom but are not a British Citizen, you can apply for a partner visa extension which will allow you to stay in the UK for an extended period with your partner.

To ensure that you can prepare yourself for applying for a partner visa extension, we have provided a quick guide below.

What Are Partner Visa Extensions?

Created for non-EAA citizens, partner visa extensions are visa extensions issued to individuals that wish to remain in the United Kingdom with their spouse.

Typically, if a partner visa extension is accepted, individuals applying will be permitted to remain in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland for an additional 30 months.

Following the expiration of the partner visa extensions, non-EEA citizens will have the ability to apply for indefinite leave to remain status. If granted, this status essentially means that individuals who secure partner visa extensions can indefinitely stay in the United Kingdom.
