Employee or Sub-Contractor?
Murria Solicitors successfully defended a company facing a claim for personal injury compensation. The claim was made by a worker arguing he was injured due to faulty tools. Our client’s defence was that the worker was not an employee but a self-employed contractor who was responsible for supplying his own tools. The worker issued Court proceedings and on the eve of the Trial, in October 2016, he discontinued the claim and ordered to pay our client’s legal costs.
