Claiming Compensation as a Prison Inmate

Jan 15 2013

Murria Solicitors recently acted for an inmate who sustained an injury whilst carrying out his work duties at HMP Oakwood. The inmate received an injury to his head and following representation from Murria Solicitors, G4S who runs HMP Oakwood, swiftly admitted that the prison was at fault. His claim was settled and his compensation was paid directly into his prison account. The claim was conducted on a no win no fee basis so the inmate did not have to pay any legal fees.

It is quite common that inmates are employed in prison and accidents do happen. The prison or whoever runs the prison can be held liable if they have been negligent in causing your accident. If you have been injured whilst you were on remand in prison, whether it be inside the prison or the prison grounds, then Murria Solicitors may be able assist you in your compensation claim on a no win no fee basis.

The matter was conducted by our Mr S Mistry, Solicitor.
